Austin-Oak Hill Rotary Club
Member- April 2011 to April 2012
I'd always known that Rotary Clubs existed, but didn't know what they actually did until I had a boss who was a Rotarian. It wasn't too long after that I became a Rotarian after learning about the "Service Above Self" mantra of the club.
With the Oak Hill Rotary Club I helped with general carpentry and grunt work in rehabing an old house in east Austin and helped in organizing and recruiting for a local blood drive.

Scrubbly
- March 2010 to Present
Team Members: Josh Janicek, Giorgi DalakishviliScrubbly is a desktop software application that I designed that serves the email marketing world. Scrubbly allows an emailer to import their mailing list and a suppression list (also known as an unsubscribe list) and the application will automatically scrub the lists against each other to find matching email addresses. This allows mailers to remove unsubscribes from their mailing list(s) and ensure that email marketing and CAN-SPAM compliance best practices are upheld.
• Scrubbly is available for Windows and OS X
• Automatically detects hashed (MD5 or SHA-256) suppression lists
• Lists are scrubbed on the user's local hard drive (instead of uploading to a 3rd party service)
• Designed so it's extremely easy for anyone to use
• Scrubs tens of millions of lines in mere minutes -
SlimList
- July 2011 to Present
Team Members: Josh Janicek, Sorin MarinSlimList was developed because my lovely wife wanted a simple and non-clunky grocery list app that could replace Apple's 'Notes' app. Her request: make an iPhone app that will let me check items off my list and let me import list items from various sources (recipe websites, other apps, email messages, etc.)
I designed the UI and UX so SlimList makes it insanely easy to create, manage, import and cross off items on the lists that help you stay organized. This was my first iOS app and had an absolute blast working with Sorin and my wife to develop SlimList and make it available on the Apple App Store. -

It integrates web services with a Filemaker database to create, retrieve and update shipping data, scans major carrier shipping barcodes and has an integrated signature pad so recipients can input a signature using their finger or a stylus. Barcodes are translated into tracking and shipping ID numbers, and customer signatures are scanned and stored as image files - both elements employ web services to have the data pushed to the client’s online database in real time.
Custom SDK integration was employed for the client to use their Linea-pro 4 barcode scanners. -
